Very good article. As a widow of four years my own experience does show that people generally haven't got a clue about the grief process, how long it takes, what to say to someone in grief or even how to help someone suffering loss. It's difficult, it's messy, it's crazy ups and downs, but with the support of loved ones and sometimes professionals, we can get through it and come out on the other side.

Comment on Maintaining Hydration by Larry Austin

Greetings,
Keeping properly hydrated is always good (perhaps the best) advise. Next to breathing clean quality air, you need good clean quality water. This post mentions to drink "fluids", which I beg to differ just a little. If your interest is to maintain hydration, your best bet is to drink water. Statistics show that in the United States, more soda pop is drunk that water. This is a tragedy for the health of the people of this nation. Water is required (consumed) for digestion of foods. And I've learned that your body will consume eight glasses of water to digest the sugar from just one can of soda.
As a new resident of Las Vegas, NV, proper hydration has become a major concern of mine. And with this, I've been studying alkaline ionized water. Learning that disease thrives in an acid body environment, I'm hoping to avoid disease with a diet of alkaline water. The ionization of water is supposed to make water better hydrating, as well.

Good information. There are many things that are worth a try to help you avoid many of these challenges in old age. Exercise is key, and staying active for as long as possible is without question a must. Other things that can help include: Fish Oil (mercury free), Vit D (the sunshine vitamin), magnesium (we are very deficient in most minerals as our soils are depleted), and eating a diet filled with fresh vegetables and fruit.

This is great advice, hydration is so important for the proper functioning of your body.

I was particularly interested in what you say about the delivery of oxygen, that's something I did not know.
